Important Information for Buyers

Viewing and Exposition

Exposition and Early Viewing by Appointment

Individual viewing times must be arranged in advance.

Please register for the viewing by phone or by using our online form on our website. This way we can ensure you are being served rapidly and no waiting times arises.

Delivery of Lots and Shipping Order

After the auction, the lots will be available for collection between 2:00pm and 5:00pm on workdays from Monday 30 March to Thursday 9 April 2020. Please use the side entrance to the auction house (on the left-hand side) and register on the third floor.

Additional Security Measures

The viewing rooms are monitored by supervisors and specially trained security guards as well as by video surveillance. In order to ensure that the viewing process is as efficient as possible, you will be assisted by a staff member at all times who will hand you the lots.

Value Added Tax (VAT)

Buyers must pay Swiss VAT (currently 7.7 %) on the commission, all postage and insurance costs, and all additional services.

All lots marked with * in the auction cata­logue are subject to VAT in full. For these lots, Swiss VAT (currently 7.7 %) is charged on the hammer price plus commission, all postage and insurance costs, and all addi­tional services.

VAT Does Not Apply in the Following Circumstances

  • If the lots are shipped to an address outside Switzerland by the company Peter Rapp AG.
  • If the buyer produces an official export certificate from Swiss customs fol­lowing proper exportation of the lots.
  • Dealers based in Switzerland can de­duct the VAT paid to Peter Rapp AG as input tax on their own VAT return.

The following information is required:

  • Credit Card Holder, Card Number, Expiry Date
  • CVC code: for MasterCard or Visa, it‘s the three-digit number in the signature area on the back of your card. For American Express, it‘s the four-digit number on the front of the card.

We accept credit card payments up to a maximum of CHF 2,000.– per customer and auction bill. We would be grateful if you could pay via bank transfer.

Debit Cards

Accepted Debit Cards: Maestro, Postcard

No transaction fee is charged for the use of a debit card.

Shipping of Auction Lots

We will ensure that your auction lots are properly packed and seamlessly dispatched. Please note that we are required to issue the necessary shipping/customs documents for deliveries outside of Switzerland.

The following flat-rate fees will be applied to cover packaging, shipping, and issuing of customs documents (for deliveries outside of Switzerland):

Your package will be fully insured by Rapp Auctions while in transit. For this comprehensive insurance cover, Rapp Auctions will add a 0.5 % surcharge to the auction bill.

Auction lots which have not been collected and for which the buyer has not submitted a shipping order after 9 April will be stored at the buyer’s expense.

Lots which are marked with the symbol ~ in the auction catalogue cannot be shipped abroad by Rapp Auctions. They can either be picked up from the auction house or sent to an address within Switzerland.
